Reflection (2010)

All the way home she travels the trails that her heart has drawn.
All the day long, she traipses through daydreams & memories long gone.

She's homeward bound,
but no home she's found;
her pulse is the only sound.

She opens the door,
yes, looking for more.
This heart has an open sore.

The key turns the lock,
tick goes her clock,
as she takes a peak in and stops.

She gasps and she stares,
there's a mirror there.
The reflection of a youthful girl.

A fairy princess,
young and senseless,
who believed in a love with no consequences.

The image is brilliant,
her senses bombarded,
by a pain which left her barren.

As the princess melts away,
a widow there remains.
It takes all the girl's strength to remain sane.

She slams the door shut,
there are knots in her gut,
as she sees her story play out.

She stumbles away,
scared to let her mind play,
instead it spins and it sways.
